What is Harbour for Humanity and what do you do?
Harbour for Humanity is a UK-registered charity supporting vulnerable communities in the UK and internationally. Our work focuses on humanitarian response in crisis settings, educational support and scholarship programmes, and essential aid such as food support and access to clean water where it’s needed most.
Do you only work in Gaza?
No, we operate globally and support projects in different crisis-affected regions. While our leadership has strong roots in Gaza, our mission is wider and focuses on supporting vulnerable people wherever support is most needed.
Who leads Harbour for Humanity?
Our CEO is Dr Mohammed, a qualified doctor originally from Gaza, and our charity was founded by Alaa, a Gazan native who moved to the UK in 2021. Together, our leadership team brings lived experience, professional expertise, and a strong commitment to ethical humanitarian support.
How do you choose the projects you support?
We prioritise projects that are urgent, practical and high-impact, such as education support, scholarships, essential aid, and crisis response. We also consider safety, need, trusted local delivery partners, and clear accountability so support reaches the right people.
Is it safe to donate and how do you use donations?
Yes, we take transparency and accountability seriously. Donations are used to support approved projects and essential aid, and we work to ensure funds are tracked and directed to their intended purpose. Where possible, we share updates on our work so supporters can see the impact of their contributions.
How can I partner with Harbour for Humanity?
We welcome partnerships with individuals, community groups, businesses, and organisations who want to support humanitarian or educational work. We have teams in different regions globally, including a team in Gaza. If you would like to deliver a project in Gaza (or elsewhere) and require trusted on-the-ground support and coordination to help resources reach the right place, please get in touch and we will be happy to discuss what’s possible.
